Every once in a while a filmmaker comes along who's wit, raw talent, and accommodating family members conspire to produce greatness. And then someone else comes along and exploits them for dolla, dolla bills.
Before that happens, check out this talented brother sister duo, Daniel and Katie Hart. My kids and I have been watching their videos nearly non-stop since I discovered their YouTube channel yesterday.
I promise this is safe for work and kids.
I also promise that you will want to adopt these two and have them come document and re-enact your family hi-jinks.
Start with "The Socks" in which Daniel gives a monologue worthy of the great John Cusack in any of his 80s classics. Really.
God I hope my kids grow up to be Daniel and Katie.
"The children are our future."
- Whitney Houston
"I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that."
- Lloyd Dobler, Say Anything
"Just like in cereal commercials. Kids get Toucan Sam and cannibalistic Cinnamon Toast Crunch pieces and all grown ups get is a promise of lower cholesterol."
-Daniel Hart, The Socks

I love the Dicaprio/DelTorro kid. They both do a great job.
ReplyDeleteMe too! And I saw the DiCaprio right away but couldn't put my finger on the other influence. You nailed it.
DeleteI love the ending. Cracking up. Now I want to start making videos with my kids. I guess I need to learn how to work the video camera first.
